Hear what Marjan Rintel had to say about the Project SkyPower Initiative…
‘’For 105 years, continuous improvement and innovation has been part of KLM’s DNA. Now the aviation industry faces one of its biggest challenges: reducing our impact on the planet. Alternative aviation fuels - yielding lower carbon emissions from production to use compared to fossil fuel - will be one of the levers to tackle this challenge. We have already been co-operating with parties to research and stimulate the development of various technologies, of which synthetic fuel (e-SAF) is expected to be the most promising in terms of feedstock availability and cost perspective. I am honoured to be the co-Chair of Project SkyPower, which brings together European leaders from across the aviation value chain to scale up production of e-SAF. It will be challenging, however I am convinced that together we can make this a reality.’’
